Please do not contact your GP for a COVID-19 vaccine
The first phase of the NHS Covid-19 vaccination programme has started. When it is the right time you will receive an invitation to come forward. For most people this will be a letter, either from your GP or the national NHS. This letter will include all the information you will need to book appointments, including your NHS number. Please do not contact the NHS to get an appointment until you get this letter. City Wellbeing Practice is a teaching practice for undergraduate teaching. Therefore medical students undertake some of their education in this practice and patients may see a medical student in addition to a doctor. This is a very important part of their training as future doctors and we are grateful for your help in this regard. All student activity is supervised by a doctor. However, no intrusion on the privacy of the consultation will take place against the wishes of the patient.
Advance Nurse Practitioners are experienced Registered Nurses who have undertaken additional academic training at Master's level. Acting within their professional boundaries provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care.
Primary Care Assistant Practitioners support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as chronic disease managment, phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement, new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.
Michelle is responsible for non clinical patient welfare such as insurance forms and medical requests. She also deals with any IT problems, premises management and prescription management.
The practice pharmacist is based at the practice 2 days a week and provides primary support to general practice staff with regards to prescription, medication queries and is able to deal with minor ailments as well as management of chronic diseases.

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
This practice allows community health service clinical staff directly involved in your care to access parts of your medical record. Your consent will be asked before this can take place. If you do not wish this to happen, please let the practice know.
